AUGUST PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Well our Fiftieth Anniversary party was an overwhelming success. I truly feel it could not have been better. Hats off to those who worked to make it such a big success, namely Donna Eades, Cheryl Bartek, Ginny De Mattei, Pat Kahl, John Edmunds and John Lucka.
Tropical Acres did a great job as well by providing us with great food, drinks and service. I personally am looking forward to the seventy fifth anniversary.

Our August calendar is full of dives and we have the Keys Weekend coming up in September and lobster season starts on August sixth.

Remember, we have a new venue for our meetings, the West Hollywood Elks Lodge, 7190 Davie Rd Ext. Hollywood, Fl.

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at the meetings or dives or dinner at large.

JUNE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

I'm sorry to say that I haven't been diving lately but I plan to remedy that situation very soon. The water is warming up and I'm happy to put my 5 mil suit away for a while.

A group of fifteen of us will be in Cozumel when you read this. We are leaving on May 25 and returning June 1. I’m looking forward to some great diving. Hopefully we will have a trip report to share with you.

The annual Diva Dive was last weekend and everyone had a great time. The seas were flat and it was a warm sunny day. There are some photos on Facebook.

We have a club dive on June 10 on Lady Go Diver. I’m hoping to see a lot of you there. Please remember that you must sign up with the shop in addition to filling out a sign up sheet.

There are a lot of fun and exciting events on the calendar including a night dive followed by fireworks, a night dive at the Blue Heron Bridge, dives in the lower Keys and of course the annual Keys weekend. As always, we will dive on the local charters and have a few private boat dives. Needless to say there are a lot of activities scheduled.

I look forward to seeing a lot of you in the coming weeks. Let’s have a great summer.

MAY PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Well, the pig roast was a huge success. If you missed it, you missed a fun evening with great food and great people. We never know how many people will show up for our parties so I have to tell you that I was happy with the turnout. Let’s hope we can keep it going for the seafood fest in the fall. Thanks especially to Joe Smariga, for taking care of the pig and everyone else who helped with the set up and break down. Thanks also to everyone who brought the delicious sides, appetizers and desserts. Everything was terrific.

With summer approaching, many of you who haven’t been diving in the winter will be getting back into the water. Before you go please be sure to check out all of your gear and have it serviced if necessary. You don’t want to find out you have an equipment problem on a dive boat or worse, under water.

We have lots of activities planned. Be sure to check the calendar out and fill out an interest form on the website to take part. Be sure to either mail your payment or pay with PayPal.

The water is slowly warming up and I hope to be in a 3mm suit the next time I’m out. The winds have been awful lately which has kept me out of the water for quite some time. Hopefully the weather will be more favorable for being out on a boat in the near future.

I hope to see a lot of you on the events we have planned.

Live long and lobster.
